Come along with Thornleigh Car Club for a full day social drive as we travel to sites of over half a dozen long lost speedway venues of Sydney. Do you know where the Place of Pace is? Or the possible birthplace of Fender Benders in Australia? Did you know that the Speedway by the Freeway was originally operating back in the 1930’s? Do you like the speedway and have an interest in Australian motorsport history? Well this is the event for you. You will get to walk around one of the tracks and see what is left or remember where other tracks once were. There are a few of the more famous speedway venues on this tour, along with many that you may have never known even existed! This is a fully route charted event making it a very relaxing day for everyone. Stick around for the optional night at Valvoline Raceway (Development Sprintcars, Roof Off Rumble Late Models, Wingless Sprints and Legend Cars) to finish off this event.

All participants, 16 years or older, attending Valvoline Raceway at the end of the Drive Down Memory Lane Speedway Edition event* will go into the draw to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher valued at $500. This includes 5 hot laps with Robbie Farr, signed photograph, bbq lunch and guests are free to watch.

We have included many different options for the event to suit everyone’s budget…. So be there or be square!

Start: 8:00am (Briefing 7:45am) Finish: 5:00pm at Valvoline Raceway

There will be stops for morning tea and lunch, where you can purchase your food or bring your own. Please ensure however that your clothing is suitable to enter a club, that you sign in and you have appropriate ID (i.e. licence, photocard etc).

Cost: The cost for this event is broken up into categories, due to the range of options available. Additionally, if you are bringing children, please ensure you check their ages against the category. Age based entry fees for this event is primarily based on the Valvoline Raceway age entry breakdown to reduce confusion.

Speedcars: $55 per person, kids under 12 free
This category includes the social drive/tour as well as General Admission to Valvoline Raceway.
Cost includes bottles of water, a printed Speedway Venue Information booklet and a set of route instructions per vehicle, along with other historical memorabilia. General Admission to Valvoline Raceway as well as 1 ticket into the draw for the chance to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher.* Day membership included for non-members.

Sprintcars: $110 per person, kids 13 to 15 $55 per person, kids 6 to 12 $35 per person, kids under 6 free
This category includes the social drive/tour as well as admission into the Valvoline Raceway PCR Club (corporate box).
Cost includes bottles of water, a printed Speedway Venue Information booklet and a set of route instructions per vehicle, along with other historical memorabilia. Admission to the Valvoline Raceway PCR Club (finger food provided for dinner) as well as 1 ticket into the draw for the chance to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher.* Day membership included for non-members.

Fender Benders: $35 per person, kids under 12 free
This category is for General Admission to Valvoline Raceway only.
Cost includes General Admission to Valvoline Raceway as well as 1 ticket into the draw for the chance to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher.*

Street Stocks: $90 per person, kids 6 to 15 $35 per person, kids under 6 free
This category is for admission into the Valvoline Raceway PCR Club (corporate box) only.
Cost includes admission to the Valvoline Raceway PCR Club (finger food provided for dinner) as well as 1 ticket into the draw for the chance to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher.*

Additional Tickets: $5 per additional ticket in the draw to win a ride in a 2 seater sprintcar.* The more you buy the more chances you have to win!

Entries Close: Entries and payment in full for Speedcars, Sprintcars, Fender Benders and additional tickets in the draw to win a ride in a 2 seater sprintcar must be received by Sunday 7th October.* All entries received after this date will only be for the Sidecars category and for those participants who wish to attend Valvoline Raceway after the event will be required to purchase their tickets directly, either before or on the day of the event. All entries for the Sidecars category must be received by Friday 12th October to allow for sufficient event packs to be created. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or direct deposit. Refunds: Refunds will only be provided for participants who provide notification of their withdrawal no later than Sunday 7th October.

Force Majeure: A wet weather date of Saturday 27th October has been reserved should Valvoline Raceway cancel its night of racing, before the event, due to inclement weather. Where this is the case, the entire event will be moved to this date. In this situation, refunds will be given to participants unable to attend the alternate date.

* Two Seater Sprintcar Ride Gift Voucher Draw Terms and Conditions
Entries and payment in full for Speedcars, Sprintcars, Fender Benders and additional tickets in the draw must be received by Sunday 7th October in order to be included in the draw to win a 2 seater sprintcar ride gift voucher. Furthermore, only participants 16 years of age or older will go into the draw as per the minimum age required by Valvoline Raceway. The winning ticket will be drawn at 7:45am on Saturday 13th October (or 7:45am Saturday 27th October should the event be postponed) and must be used within the 2018/19 season. Height and weight restrictions apply because the rider must be able to fit into the seat itself. Weight maximum is 120kg and height maximum is 196cm. There must be 60cm clearance from the top of the riders’ helmet to the bottom of the roll cage.
